A Friday-evening picnic in Retiro before Madrid Pride, with games, optional activities and a lot of meeting people.
A pre-Pride get-together in Retiro, on a Friday evening at the end of June 2025.
There were some games and optional activities, but mostly this was about meeting people and getting started with the project while the first weekends were being organised. It was bring your own food, drink and blanket, and the group spent the evening in a circle on the grass under the trees, drinks and snacks scattered across the blankets.
Tickets were free, with the option of a donation when you booked.
It came before any NSGW weekend had run, and the messages afterwards set the tone for what followed:
"It was a wonderful time and truly such a lovely experience to meet people in that kind of setting. I had a blast."
"Thank you for yesterday, had truly a lovely time. Let me know when the next one is."
"I had a great time. It has been a while since I have gone to an event and it was fun."
The next one turned out to be the Dessert Crawl, in August.
