Out To Swim London
A Masters aquatics club for adults 18 and over, founded in 1992 and the largest of its five branches with over 300 London members. The London swim training and lessons waitlists have been closed since March 2026.

Never done it before
The bar for club training is 400m front crawl, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 25m butterfly, all without stopping. Below that you go into Lessons, Wednesdays at the Castle and Sundays at Queen Mother. New members get a casual evaluation session with a coach and a few free swims before paying. As of March 2026 both the swim training and lessons waitlists are closed, with the club hoping to reopen them later in 2026, so the doors still ajar are water polo (London Orca) and artistic swimming (the Angels).
What they don't say
- The days and times of the She/They/Them, Trans+ and Non-Binary, Vintage and Global Majority sessions are not published on the schedule page; they sit inside the squad booking system.
- No postcode is published for Orchard Lisle, the Castle, Canada Water, Marshall Street or London Fields Lido on the schedule page.
- When the swim training and lessons waitlists will reopen is not stated beyond later in 2026.
- How many free swims a new London member gets is not stated; the join page says the number varies by branch.
Connected to
- London Orca Out To Swim's water polo team: an active squad of 80, training four times a week with 20 to 50 a session, and a six-week adult beginners course ending in a friendly.
- Out To Swim Angels Out To Swim's artistic swimming squad, added in April 2009 as the first club in the UK to coach the sport to both men and women.
- Seahorses Out To Swim's trans and non-binary group, run through the London Orca water polo team: a £5 swim on the second Sunday of every month at Pancras Square Leisure with Maz, a trans coach from Out To Swim, and a first-Monday session at the Oasis being trialled alongside the trans and non-binary water polo.
