Where to run and ride gay in London
Every group named here was checked on 10 September 2026. Training nights and fees change, so if something is out of date, tell us.
Search "gay run club London" and you get a 2019 listicle. As of September 2026 there are two clubs from the 1990s, three from 2019 to 2021, one that began this summer, and one that lives on Instagram. Who meets when and where, what it costs, and the form or app that gets you in.
London Frontrunners
Formed in 1995, over 600 members, seven weekly social runs. All but one start from a leisure centre with changing rooms and lockers, a leader runs with you on your first night, and there is dinner or brunch after:

- Wednesday, 6.50pm, Kentish Town Sports Centre, Grafton Road, NW5 3DU. 8 km, one or two laps of Regent's Park, then The Grafton. A coached session runs alongside on Primrose Hill; turn up and the coach finds you.

- Thursday, 6.50pm, Clapham Leisure Centre, 141 Clapham Manor Street, SW4 6BX. 5 or 10 km, flat, then The Belle Vue and The Two Brewers from 9pm.
- Saturday, 9.50am, Little Venice Sports Centre. 8 or 10 km round Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, brunch at the Thistle Hotel.
- Saturday, 9.50am, Victoria Park Community Centre, 5 Gore Road, E9 7HR. 5 or 10 km, brunch at the Gallery Café. No showers, so arrive ready.
- Saturday long run, 8.50am, Queen Mother Sports Centre, SW1V 1EL. 16 km and up in groups at 5:00, 5:15 and 5:30 min/km, plus a 6:00 group capped at about 10 miles.
Track is Tuesday at Mile End Stadium (meet 6.50pm, £5.05 to the venue) and Thursday at Battersea Millennium Arena (£6), though Battersea closed for resurfacing on 20 July for 12 to 14 weeks and Thursday meets at Rosery Gate inside the park until it reopens. Track is not for beginners; Wednesday coaching is, with a women and non-binary session on the second Wednesday of the month.
Your first month is free once you fill in the pre-registration form on the "Your first LFR run" page. Then £56 a year, £35 unwaged, £37 second-claim, on a year from 1 April, pro-rated if you join late. The club's volunteers also run the Pride Run 10k: 19 September 2026, Victoria Park, £30.
Queer Running Club
Hackney, 2019, a community interest company since March 2023, and for gay, bi and trans people rather than allies. Every session is coached, an hour long, and ends with a social. Book in the BEND app, which is also where the prices are.
- Monday 7pm, beginners, east and south. Listed as free, trans-plus, and supported by Misfits. Couch to 5k; nobody runs the full hour.
- Tuesday 7pm east, Work in Progress, 1 Birkbeck Street, E2 6JY. Hill sprints, a paced run, conditioning, bag drop.
- Tuesday 7pm south, The Unicorn, 157 to 159 Rye Lane. The same session round Peckham Rye.
- Saturday 10am, Work in Progress. 8 km round Victoria Park with pacers and stops, coffee after. 1pm is a strength class for runners at the same address.
Comfortable over 5 km? Go straight to a Tuesday. If not, Monday, or the quarterly open evening. The WhatsApp group is added in person, so ask a coach after your run, or email hello@queerrunningclub.com. Their race is TRANSCEND, a queer and trans only 5k and 10k on Hackney Marshes, last held 19 July 2026.
LES RUN
Gay women, trans and non-binary people: social runs, a Les Lift strength session and socials after, per DIVA in August 2025. 199 members on Strava, no website, no published timetable; the way in is Instagram, @lesrunningclub, or the WhatsApp link on their Tribe IRL page.
CycleOut London
In its 27th year as of February 2025 by its own count, so founded 1999, about 250 members, £10 a year via Spond, over-18s. Rides go up on Spond weekly, mainly weekends, usually from a rail station into the Home Counties: 30 to 100 km, three to six hours, coffee and lunch stops, graded Relaxed (up to 70 km, 17 to 20 kph), Moderate (70 to 120 km, 20 to 25 kph) or Challenging (up to 165 km, 25 kph, road bikes only). You need 30 km in your legs and a helmet.
Try first at Sunday in the Park: second and fourth Sunday of the month, 10.30am to 12.30pm, in front of the café by Roehampton Gate in Richmond Park. 11 km laps at a steady pace, coffee and cake, no membership needed. info@cycleoutlondon.org.uk.
LDN Riders
Founded September 2021 by Julian Gregory, British Cycling accredited, by its own description London's largest LGBTQ+ cycling club, over 500 rides a year. £35 a year via Spond, over-18s, helmet mandatory, confident over 30 km. Weekdays are laps: Regent's Park on Monday evening and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings; Richmond Park on Wednesday evening in BST and Friday morning, times in Spond. Weekends go out of London, 30 to over 100 km, tiered green (20 to 24 kph on the flat) to red (30 to 34 kph); new members start green or blue.
The free taster is a few relaxed laps of Regent's Park, then coffee at The Regent's Bar & Kitchen. Next one: Saturday 26 September 2026, 9.30am to 10.30am, via the form on the taster page. hello@ldnriders.com.
Queers on Wheels
Formed in 2021 by friends who like long distances; the first ride was London to Cambridge that September, and the fifth anniversary ride is Saturday 19 September 2026. Rides go up on Heylo for 284 active members: laps of Regent's Park at 7am on Tuesdays and Fridays, meeting at the corner of St Andrew's Place and the Outer Circle by the Royal College of Physicians, four laps of the 5km circuit at a deliberately sedate pace, coffee at 8am. There is nowhere to leave a bag. Most weekends there is a ride out too, from a steady Sunday to Ware to a Kent coast to coast. The only requirement, in their words, is a bike. The Joyride Collective
New for summer 2026: an LGBTQ+ women's social cycling group on Meetup, 38 members, one park or trail ride a month on a Sunday, no lycra, ending at a pub. Next is Sunday 13 September, 1pm, Alexandra Palace to Finsbury Park.
Where to start
Never run with a club? Frontrunners on a Wednesday at Kentish Town, or Queer Running Club's Monday beginners. Never ridden in a group? CycleOut's next Sunday in the Park, or LDN Riders' taster on 26 September. All four are free, and each ends with a drink among people who will tell you which session to do next.
Hear when something new is added.
New clubs, changed training nights, and the occasional weekend. No more than that.
Or come and meet people all at once.
A weekend away with a group of gay men, and nothing to prove.
